Deep Creek, a PGI community, is located to the east of I-75 and on the western bank of the Peace River. The actual creek for which the community got its name is small and does not actually go through the entire community. There is a commercial area in the center of Deep Creek providing the residents with banking, restaurants, and other commercial and retail services. For the golfers, the Deep Creek Golf Club offers 18 holes of golf in the heart of Deep Creek. The residential area of this desirable community is made up of approximately 7.250 residential lots and a reasonable number of multi-family (condominium) properties. There are two shopping centers within a mile or so of the development with a Super Wal-Mart located on the perimeter of the community. Movies, department stores, restaurants, and schools are all within a fifteen minute drive to either Port Charlotte or Punta Gorda. The design of Deep Creek allowed for "green belt" areas behind each home site. Green Belts are common property belonging to the Property Owners Associations (POA) providing additional privacy for property owners. The green belts are maintained by the POA through dues of approximately $95 per year. Other key attractions to this community are the sensible deed restrictions and the availability of public sewer and water. Although there are not any navigable waterways, there a numerous large lakes. There are two Property Owners Associations in Deep Creek. They are know as Section 20 and Section 23.
